Today, I am happy to introduce our latest class of Forbes CIO Innovation Award winners. They will each join me on stage today at the at our Forbes CIO Summit in Half Moon Bay, California. These CIOs are pushing the boundaries of their role and are harnessing innovation to drive significant revenue growth at their organizations. Since its commencement, this award has focused on CIO-led, revenue augmenting innovation, which I believe to be one of the biggest differentiators between the best CIOs and others. The first class of 2019 winners are:

  • Rob Carter, the Chief Information Officer of FedEx, who has spearheaded the development of FedEx OnSite is a retail convenience network that utilizes third party retailers such as pharmacy and grocery to receive and hold packages for FedEx customers. Primary partner is Walgreens nationally with over 7,500 locations. The OnSite channel began as a small pilot in Nov. 2015 and rapidly grew to include over 9,000 locations today. Please find my interview with Carter  about his innovation here.
  • Ed McLaughlin, President of Operations and Technology at Mastercard, whose team has developed an artificial intelligence engine, partnering with all aspects of our business to protect our customers, consumers and partner to fight against cyber fraud. Please find my interview with McLaughlin about his innovation here
