Alex is a Partner at Metis Strategy. During his tenure at Metis Strategy, Alex has led and supported a variety of client engagements with Fortune 500 and FT Global 500 companies, as well as with small and medium-sized enterprises, across industries and geographies.

He manages project teams and advises business and IT executives in dynamic and highly-collaborative client engagements by bringing to the table a multi-disciplinary perspective and actionable thought-leadership. Alex manages quantitative, qualitative, and best-in-class research & analyses to help our clients address business-critical challenges, irrespective of whether they are strategic or operational in nature.

Over the course of his diverse and international career, Alex has gained extensive experience and functional expertise across a broad range of sectors and industries, including business services, transportation, aerospace & defense, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, retail, hotels, casino & gaming, beverages, human capital management, software, communications, media, insurance, and financial services.

Alex’s professional experiences include derivatives trading support and risk management for Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, the former investment banking division of Allianz SE and industry research and analysis with the Corporate Executive Board, a Washington, D.C.-based strategic research and executive education firm, providing business support to finance and operations executives of multinational corporations. Prior to joining Metis Strategy, Alex worked as Director of International Business Development and Public Affairs for a U.S.-based consultancy, providing professional services to German and U.S. companies, seeking to establish, grow, or protect their business interests in the other country.

Previously, Alex led the European launch of a U.S. based financial services and marketing company and worked on policy and legal affairs for German state ministries, a major San Francisco law firm, the District Court of Düsseldorf, Germany, and for the German Embassy in Tokyo, Japan.

Alex holds a German law degree from the University of Heidelberg and a Master’s degree in International Affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Tufts and Harvard Universities) in Boston. Alex also studied European, Corporate, and Environmental law at the Universities of Lausanne, Switzerland and Bayreuth, Germany.

In addition to being a native German-speaker, Alex speaks English and French fluently and continues to work on his basic Spanish and Japanese language skills.

Chris Davis is a passionate advocate for leveraging technology as the driving force at the frontier of innovation. As a Partner and the Head of Metis Strategy’s West Coast office, Chris advises Fortune 500 CIOs and Digital executives on the strategic role that technology plays in differentiating the omni-channel customer experience, developing new products, unlocking new business models, and improving organizational operations.

Chris is a published author in CIO Insight and has been a featured speaker at Cisco Live, the Forbes CIO Summit,  and the San Francisco Fisher CIO Forum. With a B.A. in Economics from Georgetown University and an MS in the Management of IT from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce, Chris is a hybrid tech savvy business strategist.

He has led teams in tackling a number of business challenges, including leading the development of a global hospitality company’s $100M+ consumer-impacting digital roadmap,  creating the customer segmentation and loyalty strategy for one of the largest golf management companies, and defining the data strategy for a fast-growing sports apparel company.

In 2015 Chris opened the firm’s West Coast Office, located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Peter founded Metis Strategy in 2001. He is an expert in business and information technology strategy, and he has been a trusted advisor to a wide array of business and tech executives ranging across Fortune 500 companies in various industries.  Peter has developed several strategic methodologies that he and his firm have taught clients to use on their own in order to develop and update strategic plans, choose and manage the right portfolio of projects, and to ensure that team performance is on the path to world class levels.

In December of 2009, Wiley Press/Jossey-Bass published Peter’s book World Class IT: Why Businesses Succeed When IT Triumphs, which was named the third best IT-business book of 2009 by CIO Insight, and the number one book to read to “be smarter than your boss,” according to Baseline Magazine, among other accolades.  Upon publication in China in late 2010, it climbed into the top-50 business books sold in that market. Peter followed the success of that book in September of 2014, when Wiley Press/Jossey-Bass published Implementing World Class IT Strategy: How IT Can Drive Organizational Innovation, a book that became an Amazon.com bestseller in its categories. In March 2021, he published his third book, Getting to Nimble: How to Transform Your Company into a Digital Leader.

In addition to his books on World Class IT, Peter also writes the Technovation column on Forbes.com, writing about topics at the intersection between IT and business. Since 2008, Peter has moderated a widely listened to podcast entitled Technovation with Peter High, which is available through iTunes on a weekly basis. He is a regular contributor to CIO Insight, and has also written for The Wall Street JournalCIO MagazineCIO DigestInformation Week, and On Magazine, and has been featured in many other periodicals.

Peter has been the keynote speaker at a wide array of corporate conferences in the US, Canada, Mexico, China, India, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Spain, and Australia, and he has lectured at several universities including Harvard University, Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, the University of Washington’s (Seattle) Foster School of Business, the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business, Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Business, Purdue University, and the National Defense University.

Peter graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in economics and history.

Michael is the Leader of the Central office consulting practice. He works closely with both Fortune 500 companies and rapid growth organizations, guiding them from strategy through execution to leverage technology as a competitive advantage. Michael’s expertise spans a broad range of industries, including financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, technology, SaaS, private equity, energy, and professional services, where he has led digital and technology strategy development, operating model design, and large-scale digital transformations.

Before joining Metis Strategy in 2019 to open the firm’s Central office, Michael spent a decade at a global management consulting firm, where he developed deep expertise in digital strategy and technology transformation.

In addition to his consulting work, Michael is a frequent contributor to CIO.com and has spoken at several universities, including the Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business and the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business, where he shares his insights on the evolving technology landscape. He is also a regular speaker at industry events and conferences, where his thought leadership covers key trends at the intersection of business, technology, and innovation, often drawing on his 15+ years of hands-on experience to highlight how companies can thrive in the digital age. 

Michael earned his MBA from Cornell University and holds a Master’s in the Management of IT from the University of Virginia.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys playing tennis, cooking, traveling, and spending time with his wife and two kids. He lives in Dallas, TX.
